If reports are to be believed, BlackBerry Z10 is finally coming
to AT&T on March 22. But Samsung’s Galaxy S4 being launched on March
14 may actually sink it
After months of wait and anticipation, Research in Motion or BlackBerry’s latest smart-phone running on its latest operating system is set to enter the United States on March 22 when AT&T will start selling the latest handset from Ontario, Canada based tech giant.
For many US BlackBerry fans, this is very worrisome indeed that BlackBerry is launching its much talked about and favorably reviewed handset in the US after launching it in most of the countries around the world. Most smart-phone retailers try to introduce their wares in the United States market immediately either first or immediately after introducing it in the market. But BlackBerry hasn’t launched the handset in the US even months after its introduction in the world market.
But anyhow the product is finally being introduced in the US market
and BlackBerry fans are certainly very happy with the prospects of its
arrival in showrooms here. Nonetheless the excitement is not as high as
it was when it was showcased to the world and so BlackBerry bosses may
have to feel disappointed over the lack of interest in people due to its
very late launch.
But despite the delay and the rumors doing the rounds, neither BlackBerry nor AT&T confirmed the launch of the smartphone here. On the other hand a BlackBerry official said, “BlackBerry has not announced official launch dates for the BlackBerry Z10 in the U.S., and we are not able to confirm any rumored launch dates on behalf of our carrier partners”.
Research in Motion (RIM) that has been rechristened as BlackBerry has packed best specs under the hood in Z10. The Z10 has 1280×768 display with 1.5GHz dual core processor and 2GB RAM. The phone has 16 GB memory in-built. It also has a 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. The phone also has NFC capabilities which will allow it to communicate with other devices and be able to carry out wireless transactions among other such applications. The phone will also have Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, and ambient light sensor. So the game in the top smart-phone segment is getting all the more exciting. Now the competition and expectations are going to get bigger in the market with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 merely three days from now. And given the fact that Z10 is very costly indeed, Galaxy S4 may make its task all the more difficult indeed.
